Welcome to my Newsletter.
Welcome to my newsletter for the ‘amayzing’ month of May. May is a generous gift of light, warmth and time so you can notice the movement of Natures rich abundance arriving in full bloom. Take your time to notice this gentle slide into summer, letting go of the urgent burst of hectic spring energy. Let it give those things to you too.
Some points to consider:
· What am I growing right now that needs patience more than effort?
· Where do I feel most like myself lately, and what does that tell me?
· What would it feel like to trust the process I am already in?
· What is the earth under my feet asking me to slow down and feel?
When we spend time and practise mindfulness in Nature, it reminds us we are human beings, not just human doings. Let yourself regularly pause in your garden, a field, woodland, a park, and allow your attention to rest into the environment. Take a breath and notice the sounds, what draws your attention, what is in movement and what is still. Let Nature be a rhythm that steadies and grounds you, an invitation to be present in everyday life.
Tune into this changing season of Nature and let the haste and stress of life be soothed in the warm attention of May.
Take in the lengthening turquoise evenings, feel the different pace of change within Nature and within you, and let it be your guide.
May you recognize in your life the presence,
power, and light of your soul.
May you realize that you are never alone,
that your soul in its brightness and belonging
connects you intimately with the rhythm of
the universe.
May you have respect for your individuality
and difference.
May you realize that the shape of your soul is unique,
that you have a special destiny here,
that behind the façade of your life,
there is something beautiful and eternal happening.

Funny little Fact:
Do you notice your heart beating faster, perhaps even racing when feeling anxious and under pressure i.e. before speaking, sharing an opinion?
I heard that if you reframe this as this is your heart applauding you, cheering you on, encouraging you to share and express yourself, it can reduce the worry, anxiety, and fear.
Your very own cheerleader.

A powerful mini help activity:
Your life is in constant motion, each moment moving onto the next one, completely unbidden. How we manage this depends on if we are reacting to these changes increasing stress and discomfort, or if we can allow helpful responses to arise to whatever is happening.
If we learn to delay a reaction, like anger, fear and impulse, we slow down, which creates a power pause. Wisdom lives in a pause. You begin to see clearly, feel emotions and let go, allowing a wise response, avoiding decisions and situations that you will regret.
So practise pausing, stop and take a breath, unclench your jaw, look at your thoughts and let them slide away with the breath out, and create a space of quiet. The wisdom we crave to handle our life well often begins with a silent pause.

Thank you for reading my newsletter and as ever, if you have any questions, or want to know more about something on here, please do let me know.

What I Offer...
Get in touch

Mindfulness crept into my life about 12 years ago after I completed a Mindfulness Based Reduction for Stress Course [MBSR], offered by my workplace, a Hospice. The teachings touched a need in me to want to experience life in a calmer and more enjoyable way; to find ways to be present helpfully to the way my life was unfolding rather than engage in battling with the automatic behaviours with repeating conflicting thoughts and emotions, with all the attendant emotional and physical fallouts.
