Being in the Radiant Light of Summer

A day of resting into the flow of Summer's exuberant offerings and delights.

Gail and Clare hold a deep passion for sharing practices of unfolding into the arising moments in authentic and kindly ways, nurturing and building the safe spaces that support and nourish the mind, body, heart and spirit.

They have gathered a wealth of experience and training in a variety of skills and intuitive practices with mindfulness, yoga and kinesthetic movement.

During this day, they will guide you to harness the abundant, dreamy energies of summer, consciously letting them kindle our senses and connect us to the power of spacious healing within.

We will loosen the tethers of yesterdays, weave the body and breath of today into now, and allow the heart to expand into our tomorrows.

Teas and coffees will be available all day and we will have a light, wholesome lunch such as soup and bread and fruit. We will have tea and cake at the end of the day.

Venue:

Garway Village Hall is a beautiful venue, light filled and airy, situated in the small village of Garway, Herefordshire, with hills and fields all around, and  many natural spaces to explore at lunch time.

Your Teachers:

Gail Calthrop

I love sharing mindful approaches and skills in many ways and settings and with many different peoples and communities.

Sharing mindful knowledge, awareness and practical tools to use in daily life, promotes, builds and enhances greater resilience and well being, and creates the spaces where joy lives. Joy is a bridge to the self that connects to our natural rhythms of balance and equilibrium, so easily lost in this busy life. So, let’s be the joy we all look for!

Gail will explore the moment by moment experience with tender attention, using mindful meditation practices and softly aligning to unfolding thoughts, emotions and sensations.

Creating a spacious awareness, we will find the heat of the summer reflected in our natural rhythms, allowing the deep compassion of resting, to arise.

Clare Johnson

I have been teaching yoga and working as a craniosacral therapist and therapeutic massage practitioner for many years.  I love supporting people to reconnect with their inner resources and to help people recover a feeling of ease, strength and balance - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  I draw inspiration from nature, the seasons, senses and elements, finding them to bring greater focus, depth, resonance, creativity and fun to our practices.  I sometimes also harness the alchemy of music and singing.

Using gentle yoga stretches and movement to awaken and connect to the body, Clare will guide us to attentively explore and harness both the thrum of energy of the highest sun at the Summer Solstice and respond to our need to stay grounded and connected to our inner quiet and rest. We will each find the balance of these which best serves us in each moment.

What you will need to bring

  • A yoga mat

  • A blanket

  • Cushions/blocks for your head and to support under your knees if needed.
