Let the magic of being creative with willow for Christmas come alive for you in this SPECIAL One Day Retreat. With Mindfulness Teacher Gail Calthrop @mindfulgail, creating the space of focussed, meditative attention, and guided by the expert tutoring of Ruth Denison, @black.barns.baskets, the willow, with its quiet and resilient strength, will bend and flow to create stunning Christmas decorations.
Ruth Denison of Black Willow Baskets brings a gentle, creative energy to the craft of willow weaving. Her work blends traditional techniques with a contemporary eye, guiding others to discover the quiet magic and resilience of willow through mindful, hands‑on making.
Gail Calthrop brings a warm, reassuring presence to her mindfulness teaching. Supporting people in finding stillness, clarity, and self‑connection, offering practices that encourage deep focus, emotional ease and a sense of inner steadiness.

This day is perfect for anyone who is able to move at a gentle, comfortable pace and enjoys taking things slowly and mindfully. It’s ideal for those who want to be creative, learn a unique and beautiful skill, and weave with willow in a calm, supportive environment.
You’ll be guided to work with focus and ease, staying connected to your body and breath as you explore the flow and feel of willow weaving. This retreat is all about mindful creativity, steady movement and discovering the quiet joy of making something with your hands. No prior skills are necessary.
Payment, Cancellations and Refunds:
Payment in full required at the time of booking.
If for any unforeseen reason we have to cancel the event, you will be fully refunded.
If you need to cancel your place before 1st October, you will receive a refund minus an admin charge of £10.
If you need to cancel your place after 1st October, there will be no refund.
Note: In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, attendees who book online, by phone, or via email are entitled to a 14-day cancellation period from the date of booking. However, if the retreat is scheduled to begin within this 14-day period, attendees booking are expressly agreeing to waive their statutory right to cancel in order to secure their place.
